Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva Post Fight Interviews

Fight Hub TV was on the scene last night in New Jersey as Strikeforce put on another amazing show. In what was certainly the biggest upset so far in 2011, the man many saw as unbeatable suffered his second straight loss. The one time king and possibly greatest mma fighter in history Fedor Emelianenko lost to Big Foot Silva via TKO due to doctors stoppage. It was certainly a sad and shocking thing to see as Emelianenko told fans after the bout that it was probable that he would retire. One man’s fall allows the rise of another rise as the other Russian, Sergei Kharitonov pulled off a KO win over the Andrei Arlovski. It was the type of win Kharitonov needed to put himself on the map with U.S. fans but as a emerging favorite in the Strikeforce heavyweight tournament. Silva and Kharitonov now await the winners of the remaining quarterfinal match ups between Fabricio Werdum vs. Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers.

The mood backstage was crazy, as Fedor was immediately escorted by marshals out of the arena and straight to the hospital. Meanwhile we happened to come upon a somber Andrei Arlovski who was in the dressing room crying, obviously still emotionally caught up from his loss. One of our correspondents went up to him, patted him on the back and simply told him, “You’ll get them next time.” Arlovski turned and looked at us and the most sincerest thank you came out from him. It pretty much made our night. Til next time, enjoy the interview we were able to get!
