Before the war of words can turn into a battle in the ring WBC champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1. 21 KOs) and challenger Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) had to tip the scales at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Both fighters came in at lighter than normal weights, Stiverne at 239 and Wilder at 219 pounds, but with both possessing solid power, a few pounds shouldn’t make much of a difference in the fight.
After both fighters weighed in, they engaged in a face off, one that was much shorter than their over three-minute one at Thursday’s presser, but still just as intense.
With all the pre-fight events done and over with the last thing to do for the fighters is to get in the ring and back up their words.
If the punches are as lethal as the talking has been over fight week, all that watch the WBC heavyweight title bout on Showtime and live at the MGM should be in for a treat, in a bout that a early knockout is almost guaranteed to go down in.
