Bermane Stiverne vs. Deontay Wilder: ‘Bronze Bomber’: ‘I’m going to beat Stiverne to a inch of his life’

Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) will be out for blood Saturday, Jan. 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, as he not only wants to take away Bermane Stiverne‘s WBC heavyweight belt, he also wants to inflict substantial damage on his opponent.

Fed up with Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs) bad mouthing him for the last several months, Wilder hopes to have his shinning moment against Stiverne, and wants to “beat Stiverne to a inch of his life.”

Wilder has not been past Round 4 in any bout and has won all 32 of his pro fights via knockout and if he has his way he will add No. 33 to that streak this weekend.

Stiverne has been adamant about letting everyone know about Wilder’s lack of experience in the ring and the level of his opponents. While this might come into play Saturday night in his favor in their bout, Wilder made a solid point himself.

While Stiverne is the WBC champ, he really hasn’t been part of a major event, while Wilder has, when he took home the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

Kevin Iole wrote about Wilder being mistaken for NBA superstar LeBron James while at the Olympics and even needing a security escort while he moved about the games. Having that edge having already dealt with a spectacle, he could have the mental edge despite his so-called lack of ring experience.

There are several things that could come into play this weekend when Stiverne and Wilder meet in the ring, but the one thing everyone hopes takes place is a KO win.

With how the two seem to want to inflict harm on each other, a early stoppage is all but guaranteed to happen in what is being called the biggest heavyweight fight in the United States in over a decade.
