Robert Garcia talks Brandon Rios moving to junior welterweight; Donaire interested in bout with Nishioka

Boxing trainer Robert Garcia is head trainer to a handful of top talent in the world of boxing. Advising the likes of his brother Mikey Garcia, Antonio Margartio, Nonito Donaire, Brandon Rios and Kelly Pavlik. Garcia has made a name for himself in the past few years as a solid trainer. In this video, Garcia talks about the new diet plan his lightweight star is now on. It is no secret that for quite some time, Brandon Rios has had a difficult time making weight. In a recent HBO special, in which cameras followed the fighter two days before his match up with John Murray, it was revealed that he did not eat for nearly a week. Even going to this extreme, the fighter missed weight and was stripped of his light weight title. He has since then hired a professional nutritionist as Garcia happily reports that Rios looks as strong as ever and is not over weight.

The topic of Nonito Donaire vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux is also explored with Garcia explaining that the team would rather fight with Toshiaki Nishioka the current WBC super bantamweight champion. The reason? It is simply a matter of business, as Garcia states a bout with Nishioka would make more financial sense.
