As reported yesterday by mmaweekly.com, Vitor Belfort (19-8 MMA, 8-4 UFC) is in fact out of his bout with Yushin Okami. He is not injured though as he is expected to meet UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva (27-4 MMA, 12-0 UFC) in a UFC middleweight title bout early next year.
The move by the UFC may be in response to the recent positive steroid result by Chael Sonnen that were confirmed by the California State Athletic Commission for his fight with Silva at UFC 117.
Okami now faces Nate Marquardt in place of Vitor Belfort at Ultimate Fight Night 22 in Germany.
