ufc rio silva vs okami live in fight bettingBy Greg Riot

UFCContest.com is at it again giving you MMA fans the chance to win your share of the $2000 prize pool by just making picks on the UFC Rio event coming up this Saturday. A minumum of TOP 10% of entrants will share in the prize pool, but there’s no need to sweat because Riot’s got your back. After I briefly explain the point system to this contest I will give you my UFC Rio picks so that you get an edge in the contest.

This is how scoring works:

Correct Winner: 15 points
Correct Method: 7 points
Correct Round: 5 points
Correct Minute: 1 point
BONUS – Guess all four categories correct for an additional 15 points.

The contest is sponsored by BetDSI Sportbook and you have to make an account with them as well in order to enter the contest. BetDSI also has an exclusive MMA betting feature taking the world by storm: Live In-Fight Betting. With that feature you can bet on every take down, every submission and every KO while the fight is happening.

Ok. So without further adieu here are some of my quick picks on UFC Rio that you can use for UFCContest.com or MMA betting at BetDSI:

 Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami

Don’t expect Yushin to use his Thunder to pull a Verdum here. Okami has too big faults that Silva will take full advantage of. One is that he hesitates too much and over thinks before attacking. Second is that he tries to parry punches with his hands and he’s not all that good at doing so. Okami’s fighting style just doesn’t match well with Silva’s. Take Silva to win within the first round, this fights not going the distance.

Mauricio Rua vs Forrest Griffin

Griffin won over Rua way back in 2007 via submission with only 15 seconds left in the last round in what was a close fight. Both fighters have evolved since then but I believe Rua has more so than Griffin. Although Rua got annihilated by Jon Jones in his last fight, Rua looked spectacular in his rematch win against Lyoto Machida. Shogun will come prepared and will make sure to finish the fight within the first two rounds because Griffin will most likely come in as the fighter with the most endurance. Take Rua to win and not leave the fight in the judges’ hands.
