With UFC 116 just around the corner and the anticipation for the return of the most hated man in MMA, Brock Lesnar growing daily I saw it fit to break down the fight card and make some predictions.

Kurt Pelligrino vs. George Sotiropoulos

The biggest reason why I love this fight so much… it’s on early! This means I won’t feel as bad for ignoring it and while I get my buzz started! This fight is Jiu-Jitsu against Jiu-Jitsu and should prove to be a boring roll around. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching the technicality of Jiu-Jitsu I just don’t see this fight being very entertaining. Either way it will end in submission via something painful I’m sure!

My Choice – Pelligrino via Rear Naked Choke

Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Stephan Bonnar

Although NO ONE can question the heart of Bonnar, the one thing every fan questions in a controversial win/loss is exactly what will stop this fight… the ref! With 3 losses in a row I figure this should be be last we see of Stephan in the UFC. He just can’t seem to get it done against the big dawgs of the Light Heavyweight division.

My Choice – Soszynski via TKO

Matt Brown vs. Chris Lytle II

Two men with the talent to take control of the fight wherever it may go! I LOVE THIS FIGHT! Chris Lytle vowed to never allow his fight to be left in someone elses hands after his losses to Matt Serra and Matt Hughes and since then it have een proven he is trying to live that up. This will surely be a battle of heart and will and I expect it to go the full 3 rounds.

My Choice – Chris Lytle via Unanimous Decision

Chris Leben vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama

After suffering broken ribs in training, Wandelei Silva was forced to pull out of his birthday bout against “Sexyama” only to be replaced by the either crazy or flat broke Chris Leben fresh off his “The Ultimate Finale” victory. “Choo-sung Hoon” as he’s known in the Asian countries he has become so popular in doesn’t seem pleased at all with this news. He was quoted by Korean MMA site Daum.net saying, “In the worst case, I will not take part in the event. We are working hard to resolve this issue.” Apparently he feels Leben doesn’t deserve to fight him and that it will do him no good to fight someone of “The Crippler”s status. Taking this into account I would LOVE to see Akiyama get KTFO by Leben… sadly I don’t think that will happen.

My Choice – Yoshihiro Akiyama via KO and having a hot wife!

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin

The fight so many casual MMA fans throughout the world have been looking forward to for so long. Lesnar makes his return only to fight the SCARIEST MAN ALIVE! Shane Carwin is 12-0 and hasn’t ever been taken out of the first round, ohh yeah and he hasn’t NOT driven his opponents head into their spleen every time! If both fighters connect a punch at the same time during this fight the damage will be worse than the Haitian earthquake, Hurricane Katrina, the Icelandic volcano, and the BP oil spill combined! Brock Lesnar has the advantage in wrestling and size and would have an edge in the fight if he takes it to the ground, however I would like to think the ref (hopefully Herb Dean) would understand that those rabbit punches Brock loves so much won’t faze Shane at all and will allow the fight to continue past that stage. On the feet I gotta say Lesnar will be shocked at the power behind carwins Buick sized fists. Am I the only guy on the planet that would love to see this fight go into the 5th round and test the hearts of both these men? That would make for an interesting fight

My Choice – Shane Carwin via TKO
