Live from Vancouver, Rich Franklin knocked out Chuck Liddell at 4:55 of the first round. The ice man was the aggressor in the round landing hard leg kicks to the head of Franklin. In one such exchange, a Liddell leg kick broke the left arm of Franklin. Franklin fought on, not using the left and landed a short left hook right on the chin on Liddell with his back against the cage. The ice man instantly froze and Franklin was declared the winner.
Mirko Cro-Cop Filipovic survived a onslaught in the first round to come out with a hard fought and well deserved 3rd round submission win via rear naked choke over Pat Barry. Barry knocked the mma legend down twice in the first round and let the Croatian up in a sign of respect on both occasions. Cro-Cop became the aggressor in the second and forced the action in the third. With much of the final round under wraps, Filipovic landed a flurry of hooks and straights that sent Barry back into the cage. A straight right finally did the trick as Barry crashed to the canvas and ate about twenty pitty pat shots from Crop-Cop as he pinned him against the cage. It would soon set up the submission win at 4:30 of the final round.
