Travis “Hapa” Browne responds about Pat Barry Tweets, Stefan Struve fight, and TUF

Brought to you by: CenturyMMA.com.

We recently got a chance to talk to UFC Heavy Weight Travis “Hapa” Browne about his upcoming fight with Stefan Struve, his recent tweets about Pat Barry’s emotional speech, and even his teammate Lew Polley being an assistant coach on The Ultimate Fighter. Check the interview and feel free to leave a comment. Thanks for reading and enjoy.

FHTV: Thanks for giving us some time today, I know you have a big fight coming up against Stefan Struve.. How excited are you for the battle of the Two UFC Big Men?

THB: ya man, Im always excited to fight and i’m really excited to fight someone bigger than me.

FHTV: This is the first time in your career fighting someone with a lot of height over you, how do you think this will effect the fight?

THB: He’s really long, so i’ll have to make those adjustments during my camp, but I think it’ll be fine.

FHTV: Have you found anyone to train with that can emulate Stefan’s height?

THB: We have our phone calls out to try and get someone about his size, but itll be tough I think unless we bring some basketball players in. I don’t think they’ll like that too much.

FHTV: This is a two part questions Travis, 1)So this past weekend your teammate Joey Beltran lost a close fight to Pat Barry, talk to me about the tweets after the fight where you spoke about Pat? 2) A ton of media are saying you hate Pat Barry, is that the case?

THB: Look man, I dont hate Barry, I dont even know him.  The way I look at it is it was a fight for the troops, the troops that are fighting for our freedom today,  I’ve done a wounded warrior event for a local naval hospital and I believe that time should have been dedicated to those men and women. The men and women who are out there fighting for our freedom, today.  When I did that wounded warrior event I saw soldiers, on crutches being brought to the event in a wheel chair missing limbs having injuries that not one of us have ever suffered in the octagon. Seeing this helped me realize that those men and womens lives have changed forever, their family lives have changed.  even though my father passed away tragically, their are people that have had or are going through worse now.  I respect all men and women in the military past, present and future soldiers.

FHTV: Where the tweets meant as an attack on Pat Barry?

THB: Not at all

FHTV: Is Pat Barry a fight you are wanting to make happen, after the Struve fight?

THB: I will fight anyone the UFC puts in front of me.  I think meathead called him out already though.

FHTV: How do you think a fight would go with you and Pat?

THB: It would be a fun and entertaining fight.  someone would be going to sleep!!

FHTV: Talk to me about how excited you are for your teammate Lew Polley to be on this season of The Ultimate Fighter as a coach on Team JDS.

THB: Yeah man its good for him, I’m proud of him to get this opportunity. just as long as he doesnt show all our super secret wrestling skillz, I’m good.

FHTV: What do you think of Brock Lesnar as a coach on the Ultimate Fighter and how do you predict that fight with him and JDS going?

THB: Brock has a lot of knowledge I would think. I havent met him, so I cant tell you if he has any coaching ability but I believe that Dana and the crew would make good decisions.

FHTV: What would you like to say to all the Hapa fans out there?

THB: Stay tuned. you can follow me on twitter @travisbrownemma or on facebook Travis “HAPA” Browne  I’ll be doing a video blog and I’ll let you know where you can see it, still working out some details.

FHTV: Any sponsors you would like to shout out?

THB: FightHubTV, FIST-ta-CUFF Radio, SilverStar, Headrush, VF Elite, Alliance MMA, Osiris Shoes, Triumph United, and  all my friends and family.
