TapouT planning “Themed Restaurants”, Performance Specific Products for 2011

TapouT President Punkass (Dan Caldwell) announced on Fist-Ta-Cuff Radio that TapouT is in the planing stages in opening up a Hard Rock-esque type of restaurant. Though specifics, locations and dates were not mentioned the Grand Terrance based company is actively planning the proposed idea.

“It is still a long way from happening, but if it all goes through we may have a TapouT restaurant. It would be similar to a Hard Rock restaurant. It’s something we have always wanted to do,” said Caldwell. The restaurant would have a Hard Rock Cafe type feel, displaying memorabilia throughout. “I have always had a love for the Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock type of restaurants and seeing all that memorabilia. It has affected me event today as I own all that memorabilia. “

2011 will also see TapouT put out more athlete centric gear, rivaling current makers such as Under Armour and Nike. “We are going down the more technical route now. Your going to see the whole TapouT Pro Series. I know our customers would want to wear our gear that is specially made for them as a fighter. So why not make product and have fighters not wear gear like Under Armour that is made for a football player or a baseball player.” TapouT will also be introducing a new line of shorts that Caldwell dubbed “the most technical short in the world.”

When asked about the recent slow down of signing sponsored fighters, Caldwell has this to say, ” We have slowed down a little. We wanted to get the reigns on it and make it (TapouT) more of a premiere sponsorship. We would love to sponsor everybody, but we had to make it that fighters would want to attain.”
