Strikeforce announces undercard for Henderson vs. Babalu

Strikeforce announced a majority of the undercard for the upcoming Henderson vs. Babalu fight which takes place Dec. 4 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on Showtime.

The undercard will include a slew of newcomers who took part in the EA/Sherdog fighter exchange. These include welterweights Fernando Bettega (6-4 MMA, 0-0 SF) vs. Wayne Phillips (4-3 MMA, 1-0 SF), lightweights Max Martytniouk (0-0 MMA, 0-0 SF) vs. Justin Lawrence (0-0 MMA, 0-0 SF), and middleweights Patrick Cummins (0-0 MMA, 0-0 SF) vs. Terrell Brown (2-0 MMA, 0-0 SF).

Bettega is part of Kings MMA in Huntington Beach being trained under Raphael Cordero. He takes on Phillips, an American Kickboxing Academy fighter who recently scored a Strikeforce Challengers 6 submission win over Eric Lawson, who entered the bout with a five-fight win streak.

Max Martytniouk looks to make his pro debut on the show as well. Martytniouk whose brother is the upcoming boxing star Stan “The Man” Martytniouk is deviating from his brothers path. Lawrence his opponent is a two-time St. Louis Golden Gloves boxing tournament winner and six-time national amateur kickboxing champion. He went 5-0 as an MMA amateur and now makes his pro debut.

Pat Cummins who trains at Regin training center in Lake Forrest, CA is a former NCAA Division I wrestler with Penn State who makes his pro debut. He will take on Terrell Brown, who turned pro earlier this year and has posted a TKO win over Luke Burton and a decision win over Vadiano La Luz.
