Sit down with Superior Cage Combat’s Ryan Langmaid on being a promoter in Vegas, Kit Kope

FIGHT HUB TV got a chance recently to sit down with Ryan Langmaid the man running Superior Cage Combat here in Las Vegas, NV. We talked about his experience in the fight game as a promoter, what to expect with this card and the future SCC events, and briefly on the Kit Kope issues with this recent card, and the fights to make sure to catch this weekend live in Vegas.

If you are in the Vegas area make sure to get down to Bally’s Event Center Saturday May 21st and check www.Superiorcagecombat.com/ for more details.

FHTV: Ryan talk to me about your promoting experience before this fight?

Ryan: I previously promoted fights in Iowa and I’m also a professional  fighter myself.

FHTV: What brought you into the promotion game?

Ryan: After training/fighting for several years I decided to give the  promotional side of the fight game a try. I have good business sense  and  know everything there is to know about MMA, so it goes hand in hand.

FHTV:Talk to me about some of the dilemmas that you have seen leading up to  this fight?

Ryan:Not really any major dilemmas, had some guys pull out due to injuries  etc, but that is to be expected. I roll well with the punches, so I’ve  tried to turn all the situation into good ones.

FHTV:Lets talk about the fight card, as a fight fan what are some of the  fights you ar looking forward to the most?

Ryan:Lopez vs Buchholz should be a great fight, they have both experienced  the big shows and are both determined to get back on track with their  careers, with their action packed styles I definitely think it will be  a  exciting fight.

I’m also very excited for the Wipf vs Wisely fight, Lance is a tough  tough kid who has proven himself in Vegas and is the MMA Xplosion  Lightweight champ, Wisely is a tough up and comer, his last 4 fights  have been against UFC/WEC vets, and he has won all 4, including a KO of  Hermes Franca and a decision win over Franca as well. Both these guys  are guys to watch out for!

Those arent the only 2 I’m excited for, but with 3 days to go, I’m a  little pressed for time.

FHTV:I have been following the Kit Kope situation that has happened leading  up to his fight, which he is no longer part of. Can you tell us  anything  on this situation. Kit has put out his side.

Ryan:Well, I’m not one to talk trash about anyone even if he does about me.But I will say this, the reason he isn’t on the card any longer is  because he isn’t licensed in the state of Nevada due to steroid use in  his fight with Razor Rob. That’s really all the detail I want to go into  about that, I dont think Kit deserves the press time to keep talking  about it, so for now I’m just focusing on my fighters that want to  fight  and are good to work with.

FHTV: What can fans expect from Superior Cage Combat this fight and in the  future?

Ryan:Well, the fans can expect some good fights for sure. Most Vegas fans  are used to seeing the fights in a ring, but we stepped it up and  purchased a custom 30′ Hexagon Event Series Cage through Throwdown. The  cage seems to keep the fights more interesting and its much more  appealing to the eyes.

As far as SCC in the future, we will just keep  putting together great cards and keep expanding and giving the fans  better fights!

FHTV: For all the readers out there that scrap, how can a fighter get on a  card?

Ryan:For professional fighters looking to get on a card, they can email me  at Ryan@SuperiorCageCombat.com

FHTV: Thanks for your time, anyone you would like to shout out?

Ryan:I’d like to thank all the guys that are fighting for us, all the gyms  around Las Vegas that have passed out flyers and spread the word.
