Show 78 George Roop, Joey Beltran, Michael Guymon, & Jens Pulver

Okay we’re back with show 78.. This show we got on a mix of kats from the man already being counted out in his next fight, one of the biggest Mexicans I have ever seen, A dude with one of the biggest hearts in the sport, and a godfather andliving legend in the sport!

Our first guest has a very big fight coming up, as a matter of fact there is talk that his opponent is already being offered the champ… George Roop has been counted out before and the result has been men being stopped for the first time in their career, so be careful counting out Roop. George Roop carries a record of 11-6-1 against  former Team Tompkins team mate Mark Hominick on January 22, 2011 at UFC Fight Night 23. We will talk to George about his time on the Ultimate Fighter, moving out to Vegas to train with Xtreme Couture and then Team Thompkins. The split from Team Thompkins and what it does to a fighter mentally to have to fight a past teammate and being counted out before the fight starts…

The Mexicutioneris stopping by to throw his weight around. If you don’t know who Joey Beltran is let me just get you caught up. Joey first caught eyes with the casual fan at UFC 109 when he was “thrown” to Rolles Gracie, but Joey put a stamp on the fact he was there to stay defeating Gracie in the 2nd by strikes. Beltran is a man with concrete hands with 10 of his 12 wins coming by way of TKO/KO. Joey has a concrete chin as well as his only losses have been decisions minus one submission loss. Joey is slated to fight fellow heavy handed Heavy Weight Pat Barry at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 on January 22, 2011, in Fort Hood, Texas. We will talk to Joey about training at Alliance with the rest of the crew, beating a Gracie, winning fight of the night honors, getting hit by Meathead. We will also talk to Joey about how big of a slugfest he thinks his next fight will be, and of course we have to talk to him about sleeping people and if he ever plans of trying to hit light heavy weight.

Our next guest is dropping in for round 2 on the barber shop. Yeah that’s right we have back on the man “Joker” Guymon just days before he gets ready for battle. Joker will  face DaMarques Johnson on January 22, 2011 at UFC Fight Night 23. Joker has gone on some very long win streaks inside the King of the Cage promotion with two runs of 5 wins or more in a row. Since coming to the UFC Joker has gone 1-2, but looks to get the win streak started with DaMarques as the first name on the list. We will talk to Joker about his time in the KOTC promotion, what it feels like mentally to win a title just weeks after a tragic life event and how he could even take that fight. I’m sure Joker’s beefed up Camaro will get brought up, along with a mention of his huge ass dog. If you didn’t know Joker does it big or he doesn’t do it. We will also talk to Joker about how his gym is going and how this camp has gone for him.

Last but not least we got the GODFATHER! Yeah that’s right we got on good friend of the show Jens “Lil Evil” Pulver. Jens is just weeks away from stepping back in the cage to silence the doubters. Pulver is set to headline XFO 38 opposite Mike Lindquist on Jan. 22 and will also serve in the main event of a March 5th fight card in Chicago. Jens has lost 6 of his last fights, but remember folks he is not getting KO’d and has lost 4 by submission so don’t tell me Jens is done! Jens Pulver has done more for the sport then most could think of. He was the reason the UFC made the light weight division. He defeated the prodigy, has fought in Pride, Shoto, the IFL, WEC, and the UFC. We will talk to Jens about moving from Boise back to Iowa, training with Curan and Bartimus and the rest of the crew out there. If you have never heard an interview with Jens and us you wont want to miss this. Jens gets fired up and opens up when he stops by the barber shop, so make sure to tune in.
