Ruediger out of UFC 123 and out for 6 weeks

Gabe Ruediger has suffered a A torn groin muscle which it seems will force him out of his UFC 123 bout with Paul Kelley. Ruediger confirmed the injury to Fight Hub TV Monday Morning.

His UFC match with Paul Kelley was scheduled to take place on November 20, at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.

Ruediger had been suffering from a strained groin muscle for the past three weeks, but in this last week of training the muscle tore during a wrestling session.  Doctors have assesed that Ruediger will be out for at least six weeks.

Ruediger commented on the situation via his website, “I was wrapping it and just enduring the pain, but Wednesday, I was back to wrestling, and my groin tore all the way through. As I [lay] on the mat, I knew it was bad, but it [wasn’t] until Friday that I realized that it would be impossible to be ready for my upcoming bout.”

A replacement opponent has not been named for Kelley at current time.
