Ricky Hatton has renewed his boxing license amidst reports that the former light welterweight and welterweight champion had made the decision to retire last week. Hatton, who wrote a statement in the Manchester Evening News put down those rumors saying the retirement rumors stemmed from a quote taken out of context.
Hatton renewed his boxing license a few weeks back and wants to keep the option open for a return to the ring. “I’d like to clarify the position with regards to my boxing career once again. As usual, one sentence out of many can take a conversation out of context and until you hear it officially from the horse’s mouth, I am not retired,” wrote Hatton.
