We last saw Razor Rob McCullough in the WEC as he took on Glendale’s own Karen Darabedyan. It was a tough fight for the former Muay Thai and WEC lightweight champion as he dropped a split decision to the then debuting Darabedyan. He took quite some time off until finally signing a multi fight deal with Tachi Palace Fights. McCullough began his early mma career at Tachi Palace and was glad to be back. He was originally scheduled to fight Thomas Denny, but Denny dropped out of the bout. In came the young and scrappy Isaac De Jesus who then sported a near perfect record of 9-1. It would be a tough fight for both competitors and everyone in attendance were psyched to see these two go balls to the wall.
We spotted Tito Ortiz a few hours before Rob’s fight, and went up to him. It was pretty weird seeing someone as big of a mma personality as he is, just kicking it out in the open, accessible to fans and media alike. He chimed in on what he felt Rob needed to do to be victorious at the fight. He was wearing sun glasses again in our interview with him, but this time it made more sense as the rays of the sun were as bright as a mofo. With Tito’s video now in the bag we awaited the main event that pitted McCullough and Isaac De Jesus.
It was a good fight, but there was a bit of a size and experience difference favoring McCullough. It was mostly a pro De Jesus crowd who cheered for their boy until the very end. Being seated ringside we could see the energy start to build up as midway through the first McCullough caught a De Jesus kick and took him to the ground. He started landed hammer fists and elbows until the referee moved in and called a stop to the bout. The De Jesus fans went ballistic, kicking their chairs from the ground and wasting precious beer on grass. One fan was so irate that he kicked a guard rail that inadvertently hit one of the Tachi Palace workers. Security bummed rushed him and took him out. McCullough’s hand was raised as we rushed to follow him to get a interview. This is what we got and it is some great footage.
Oh yea Razor Rob is a boob kinda guy. We at Fight Hub TV unanimously agree that booty is the way to go, but fun bags are pretty chill too. Even though we didn’t get the chance to ask the man that question it’s a funny fact to know. Well enough with the jibba jabba, here is Razor Rob talking about his win over youngster Isaac De Jesus, who we believe has a very bright future despite this small set back.
