Countdown Clock for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

It seems the fine folks over at Top Rank know a little bit about promotion. It was reported earlier this week that Top Rank and Team Pacquiao had agreed to all contractual terms to make a Mayweather Jr. vs. Pacquiao mega fight happen. They handed signed contracts over to Team Mayweather as early as this week leaving the bout in Mayweather’s hands. So far the undefeated fighter has remained mum, with no reports coming from his top adviser Leonard Ellerbe. This may have cheesed the folks at Top Rank off and in a attempt to sway public favor in their cause gave Mayweather Jr. and crew a ultimatum of Friday, July 17th to finalize the deal or they would be moving on. To add to this, they also included a nifty little countdown watch at the top of their website to keep media and fans alike aware of the sensitive time frame that remains. (You can see it here)

Hopefully by this time tomorrow, we will have a definitive answer. If terms are not met, Pacquiao will either be facing controversial Mexican fighter Antonio Margarito or Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto. If the bout with Miguel Cotto is made Pacquiao would face him at the 154lbs division gunning for his 8th would title in 8 different weight classes.
