The X-1 Heroes event on the island of Hawaii was one of the biggest mma cards in Hawaii’s history. Not only did Kala Kolohe and Niko Vitale duke it out for the X-1 title but its also saw the inaugural round of the X-1 light heavyweight tournament. Sang Soo Lee of South Korea easily got past Roy Boughton via points to advance to the finals of the tournament.
The clear show stopper was Po’ai Suganuma. The island boy knocked out his Russian counterpart in the first minute of the first round to easily get knock out of the night. Suganuma and Lee look ready to clash in the finals of the x-1 light heavyweight tournament later this year. Suganuma was kind enough to talk to our Fight Hub TV representative the day after the fight. He reflects on his victory and the challenge Lee will be come the night of the x-1 light heavyweight finals.
