Pacquiao To Fight Margarito On Nov 13th

It is official, as confirmed by Kevin Iole of Yahoo sports, Manny Pacquiao will fight Antonio Margarito for a vacant super welterweight title belt on Nov 13th in either Mexico or Las Vegas, according to Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum. Arum who recently voiced that he was interested in another bout between Pacquiao and Cotto choose to side with his in house fighter, citing a more competitive match up and PPV sales. It would also mean more money stays in Top Rank, with the promoter able to keep a bigger share he would otherwise have to give to a co-promoter.

With this match in place, the super fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is now dead for 2010. Fans can only hope that these two will fight sometime in the spring of 2011, granted the Pacquiao comes out with a victory against the much taller and bigger Antonio Margarito. Margarito, who brewed up a storm of controversy a year ago by being caught with illegal hand wraps prior to his beat with Sugar Shane Mosley is still struggling to be re-licensed by the California State Athletic Commission. If the fighter fails to get re licensed in the states the bout would more than certainly take place in Mexico.
