Pacquiao vs. Mosley Fight Week Video: Former NBA Star Jalen Rose Talks Pacquiao vs. Mosley

You know a huge fight is coming up and I mean HUGE when you have a mix of a certain things. One being for the entire week of you release interviews revolving around the event (like we have done). Two, you get this euphoric type feeling all over your body that causes you to go into sporadic bouts of excitement in which every single thought or mention is easily relatable to that match up and three, you start seeing celebrities walking out of the woodwork’s chiming in on the big bout. A majority of the time, those celebrities and personalities know nothing in depth on the sport or athlete but you get those few that are real nitty gritty bunch.

Celebrities such as Micky Rourke and Mark Wahlberg instantly come to mind. So with that said, on a hot and very sweaty late April afternoon, former NBA star and member of the fab five Jalen Rose was out in about at The Wild Card Gym soaking up the sites and sounds of Manny Pacquiao with the assistance of Freddie Roach honing his craft.

The Fab five is one of the most remembered college basketball teams in the history of the game. Rose led the Fab Five in scoring his freshman year with 19 pts a game and put up over 1,700 points in his college career. The towering Rose went from sports analyst to fan, just like the rest of those in the crowd as straight left after straight left we were put in awe at the speed and accuracy of the Philippine wrecking machine.

After the private session, Mr. Rose spoke with our fight correspondent Marcos Villegas. Withstanding what had seemed to be 90 degree heat in The Wild Card both Rose and Marcos seemed to be the ones cutting weight for a world title fight!

Apart from the heat and funky smell, Rose had a colorful conversation with our cameras as he talked about the love he has for the sweet science and his affinity towards Michigan fighters such as Tommy Hearns and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Wait Rose is a fan of both Mayweather and Pacquiao? You gotta bet we called him out on that as well as how current fighters such as Pacquiao stack up to legends such as Roberto Duran and the aforementioned Tommy Hears.

We finally leave off the interview with Rose letting us know who he thinks will be victorious this Saturday, May 7th when Manny Pacquiao squares up with “Sugar” Shane Mosley.
