So Cal native Ornelas to get title bout with Stieglitz

WBO world Champion Robert Stieglitz (38-2, 23 KOs) will return to the ring on November 20 for his third title defense against gritty veteran Enrique Ornelas. The title defense will be at the Freiberger Arena in Dresden, Germany. Stieglitz won the WBO super middleweight belt on August 22 2009 in Budapest when he defeated the previously unbeaten Karoly Balzsay by TKO in round 11. He successfully remained the champion in January of this year when he also scored a win within the distance against Ruben Eduardo Acosta. In his last fight he added another win to his record over previously unbeaten and mandatory challenger Eduard Gutknecht.

“Enrique Ornelas is a real fighter and he has made is made out of the shadow of his brother Librado Andrade. His style is very aggressive, exactly like mine. It will be a tough challenge but my aim is clear: I want to keep my belt. Ornelas is very dangerous and has a great punching power. There are no easy opponent on the line and every fight is the hardest challenge for me and I want to fulfill it. I’m also feeling honored that the fight will be shown live on Sat.1,” Stieglitz stated.

His coach Dirk Dzemski added: “Every challenge is manageable and Robert has improved from fight to fight. We are focussing now on the sparring and will carefully analyze Ornelas.”
