Morales comments on Marquez snub

Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales has openly commented on Juan Manuel Marquez‘s decision to snub a proposed April bout between the two:

“My compatriot Juan Manuel Marquez is deciding if he’ll fight me or not because I made proposals to Amir Khan and Andre Berto, two current world champions and perhaps they’ll offer more money to fight me. But I’m going to fight in April or on a date close to that in Las Vegas against a good fighter, the best available. I won’t lose any sleep, much less my dreams over a single fighter. He thinks he’s GIVING me an opportunity, but really he’s GETTING an opportunity to see a full arena, because in his last fight he got less than 5,000 people, whereas I always did very well thanks to my fans’ support, thank God.

“Finally if Zanfer Promotions is talking in his ear, I can say from experience not to believe everything you hear. He doesn’t realize that all Zanfer wants is to use him so that I can’t fight for a title again because they’re pissed that I’m not working with them.

“I thank my friends for their support and I’ll tell you know who I’ll fight against soon.”
