Ryron Gracie discusses training with Ronda Rousey and what she needs to do when she faces Miesha Tate

Besides having really weird names, when you hear the name Gracie you automatically think Jiu-Jitsu and Acai bowls! Yea not some much Acai bowls…forget I said that. To get a roll in at The Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA is a pilgrimage to those invested in the MMA and BJJ community. It is like the equivalent of going to the Wild Card and seeing Freddie Roach work the mitts with a up and coming amateur inside the ring. It leaves you with fuzzies in your tummy and about a million text messages send to your closest friends.

Now how bad would your head explode if you got to roll day in and day out with Ryron and Rener Gracie? That’s like grappling royalty right there. Consider Ronda Rousey someone you can be extremely jealous of yet very fortunate as for the past few weeks she has been working with both brothers (luckily her head did not explode). Just a few weeks away from her rematch with Miesha Tate, Rousey has been sharping Iron as she is in the final stages of her camp before she heads off to Las Vegas for UFC 168. Both Rener and Ryron Gracie have been helping Rousey put in some work on the mat as our Michael Mardones had a chance to speak to Ryron about his time with the UFC women’s Bantamweight champ and details his advice for her for probably the most anticipated women’s rematch ever.
