Bermane Stiverne vs. Deontay Wilder: ‘B Ware’ says ‘How early I stop him depends how much Wilder can take; Arrerola is better’

Stiverne MGM workout interview

What’s being called the biggest heavyweight bout in over a decade on American Soil is just three days away and both WBC champ Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KOs) and challenger Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32 KOs) have been expressing themselves to the press at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the site of the Jan. 17 bout.

A lot of attention is being paid to Wilder’s record, with 32 wins, all by knockout and no losses, but the quality of opponent has many overlooking an otherwise stellar record.

Stiverne said that the fact that Wilder has not lost, been knocked down or went past four rounds even will put him at a disadvantage Saturday.

Stiverne took a verbal jab at Wilder saying that Chris Arrerola, the man he beat to win the WBC strap, is better than Wilder, something that the “Bronze Bomber” could use as motivation in the fight.

“B-Ware” has loss before in his career, but he only fought back harder and that determination got him where he is today, a heavyweight champ.

Despite the lack of ring experience, Wilder has the length, athleticism and technique to overcome any issues that might arise against Stiverne, who represents a big step up in competition.

No matter who has what advantage/disadvantage, the Showtime aired bout should offer fight fans an explosive meeting, one that could put the United States back on the map in the heavyweight division.
