Miguel Garcia ready to make a splash on Chavez/Gomez undercard

IBF ranked #1 featherweight Miguel “Mikey” Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) of Oxnard, CA, trained by his father Eduardo Garcia and brother Robert Garcia, is preparing to take on Francisco “Franky” Leal (14-5-3, 9 KOs) on the undercard of the Chavez vs. Gomez bout in a 10-round featherweight fight on December 4th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

Garcia’s bout is replacing ‘Bam Bam’ Brandon Rios’ who was bumped to the undercard of Pacquiao vs. Margarito this past weekend.

“I’m very happy to have been given an opportunity to be on such a big card, I’m going to take full advantage of this opportunity and on December 4th I plan on giving the fans a great fight,” continued Garcia.

Also, scheduled on the undercard will be #4 p-4-p best and two-division world champion “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire (24-1,16 KOs), WBC lightweight champion Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto (53-7-2, 32 KOs) and top prospect Jose Benavidez (9-0, 9 KOs), in separate bouts.

Chávez Jr. vs. Gomez, titled ‘In Harm’s Way’ is scheduled for 12-rounds for the WBC Silver middleweight title and will be available live on Pay-Per-View which is being presented by Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions.
