Mckee Says Retirement A sure Thing If Surgery Only Option

UFC veteran and current MFC lightweight champion Antonio Mckee, announced yesterday on Fist-Ta-Cuff Radio that he would retire if surgery would be required on a knee injury he sustained 3 weeks ago. Mckee, was training for his MFC lightweight title defense this Friday the 25th against Drew Fickett at the River Cree Resort And Casino in Canada. MFC 27 was to highlight the Mckee vs. Fickett matchup as well as Dwayne Lewis vs. Ryan Jimmo in the main event on HD Net.

“I knew about three weeks ago about the injury. I took a week off and I went back to training. I knew something was off. The guys during training were saying I kept looking like s***. Finally on Friday, my knee just gave out,” said Mckee.

“I am a natural type of guy. I do not take any vitamins, any of that stuff. This injury has something to do with my ACL or MCL. I have to get see a specialist this week coming up. If I have to get surgery, I am just going to retire. I do not believe in opening the body up. The body can heal itself. I am going to do everything in my power to get over this injury with out surgery, but if it is absolutely required, I am retiring.”

Mckee is scheduled to see a specialist this week, tune into Fight Hub TV for more information as it is released.
