So Manny Pacquiao is no longer suing Golden Boy, but what about Mayweather?

In a just released statement sent to our inbox, it seems the war between Manny Pacquiao, the eight division world champion and current pound-4-pound best boxer in the world right now and Golden Boy Promotions has reached a end.

Pacquiao thru his publicist announced that he is no longer suing Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer, Golden Boy Promotions two principals for defamation. The defamation charges of course stemmed from the whole drug test issue when negotiations were on going for a super fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Both Schaefer and De La Hoya released this statement:

” We never intended to claim that Manny Pacquiao has used or is using any performance enhancing drugs, and further state that we do not have any evidence whatsoever of such use.”

Sounds like a fair enough apology right? Ever since De La Hoya went to his twitter and personally apologized to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum things have slowly been warming up with both fans and media anticipating this round of boxing’s cold war to finally be over and allow for some very lucrative fights.

Though we chuckled when reading that in the same statement both parties admit in writing that “Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest fighters of all time.” Now your just brown nosing if you ask me. I am not saying that Pacquiao is not a all time great but do you really have to include it in a legal statement?

Looks like Pacquiao and camp may have someone by the balls. Don’t expect a Mayweather/Pacquiao bout anytime soon as well, as there was no mention that Pacquiao was dropping his lawsuit against Team Mayweather as emotions are still a bit tender between the two camps.
