Face To Face With Team Dos Santos Coach Lew Polley

Brought to you by: CenturyMMA.com.

FHTV: Your out in Florida training, how’s that going and why the move from Alliance MMA?

LP: Training in Florida has been perfect, it was I needed personally. I moved the camp to Florida to be more specific to my needs also I like the change of pace. Ouali is a great striking coach and I have known him since 2007; The Armory welcomed me because of my relationship with Ouali.

FHTV: I hear we will be seeing you on tv, can you tell us anything about that?

LP: Everyone will get to see this beautiful face on season 13 of TUF Lesnar vs Dos Santos. I will be coaching along side JDS.

FHTV: What does it mean to be choose as a coach for team JDS?

LP: It is an honor and privilege to work with Junior to pass advice along to young fighters. I know that this opportunity does not come along often. I am grateful because people I have known longer than Junior, if given the same position would not have helped me.

FHTV: What do you think of as Brock as a fighter and as a coach, do you think Brock was picked for his skills or his drawing power?

LP: As a fighter I think Brock can be very good but he was thrown into the fire to soon, as you can see he can not handle punches well. That comes with time and experience. Brock as a coach, I can’t say for sure but I know I can teach wrestling for MMA better than he can. Brock is a major draw but he is a legit athlete, so I would say both.

FHTV: When can we see you back in the cage?

LP: I will be fighting sometime soon after this show. I am getting offers left and right but my commitment is to the kids and the show.

FHTV: What are your goal’s for 2011?

LP: My goals for 2011, are to coach my heart out on TUF, win my next fight and see what life has planned for me after that.

FHTV: I have to ask you, who has the better weather, San Diego or Florida?

LP: South Florida has better weather for sure.

FHTV: Who has better looking women San Diego or Florida?

LP: Well that is tough but Florida hands down. It’s all preference, there are women from: Puerto Rico, Cuba, Brazil, The Dominican Republic and Asians. So I am a very happen man when I get to train in Florida!
