Our Fight Hub TV cameras ran into mma welterweight Jason High at The Bodyshop in Lakewood, CA. High was helping training partner Antonio Mckee prepare for his UFC debut this Saturday as well as training for his own high profile fight in Tokyo, Japan at the DREAM Dynamite 2010!! year end show.
The man High will be facing? Hayato “Mach” Sakurai a pioneer and legend in the sport. Sakurai began his career in 1996 when High was a meer teen in high school.
“Yea I guess it is kinda weird knowing that he was fighting when I was in High School,” High commented to Marcos Villegas, our in-house fight correspondent. Sakurai is coming off three straight losses as he himself struggles with bouts of retirement. High is undeterred with talks of this and is sure that Sakurai is going to come to fight, ” He is still dangerous, every fight is different and he will be ready. He has been training with Matt Hume, so I think he will be ready.”
High could very well be the guy to retire Sakurai as a fourth straight loss would be devastating to the Japanese legend and a major feather of the cap of High is will be staying busy after this DREAM fight with bouts in Kansas and Canada for the MFC.
