Gary Shaw Tells Us Why Kimbo Slice Is Not Boxing & Comments On Nick Diaz

Well, you knew it was a matter of time before we got a hold of former Elite XC head Gary Shaw and asked him a few questions about some current happenings in the MMA world. Shaw whose Elite XC promotions ceased to operate on October of 2008 is still a mainstay in the boxing side of things. Gary Shaw Productions, his boxing outfit has high quality fighters under contract such as World Champion Vic Darchinyan, former world champion Rafael Marquez and top pound for pound fighter Timothy Bradley.

One fighter who Shaw would not mind having is Nick Diaz. Diaz recently expressed his desire to compete in professional boxing matches and wasted no time attempting to set up matches with Fernando Vargas, Jeff Lacy and Sergio Martinez. We spoke to Shaw who commented that Diaz may have some trouble crossing over, given the fact that up to this point he has only been in their with MMA fighters, whose hands are not on the level of potential boxers he may face.

We also spoke to Shaw about what the heck happened to Kimbo Slice, his former headliner who fizzled out of the UFC and announced to the world that he would focus on a career as a pugilist.
