Robert Garcia talks training Kelly Pavlik “I asked Kelly why he was here, he said to be world champion again”

In this Fight Hub TV Boxing interview, boxing trainer Robert Garcia gives us an update on how former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik is faring over at his Robert Garcia Boxing Academy in Oxnard, CA. Garcia reveals that the decision was made back in October of 2011 by Pavlik’s manager Cameron Dunkin to move the former champion over to his gym. It was mentioned that Pavlik would keep to himself but Garcia contends that he has opened up to everyone at the gym and jokes around often with his fellow colleagues.

Upon Pavlik’s arrival Garcia flat out asked him why he came to train with him, “The first thing I asked him was why he was here. He said he wanted to be world champion again. I was exactly what I wanted to hear,” said Garcia. Since that time the two have been working to get Pavlik back in shape and have been incorporating some new tools,” We are working a lot on his left. His left jab, left hook and left uppercut,” Garcia mentioned in the interview.
