Enrique Ornelas bounced back into the win column with an impressive KO win over Julius Fogle in Round four at 1:12 of their scheduled eight round bout. It looked as if Ornelas had some difficulties getting into the fight as Fogle was the far busier fighter in the first round landing right hands down the pipe on more than one occasion. “I’m a slow starter,” said Ornelas, “even in sparring, I’m a slow starter, but I gotta see what’s happening in there.” From round two on forth Ornelas began feeling comfortable, first by landing straight jabs to the body and finishing with flurries to the body that undoubtedly scored points on the judges scorecards but made Fogle grimace in pain. By the fourth round all the momentum was in Ornelas’ favor, with Fogle finding no way to to stop the La Habra native. The right hands that were so effective in the first were all hitting air as feints from Ornelas put an effective stop to Fogle’s scoring offense. “I knew my feints were throwing him off and When I hit him, I didn’t think it would be the finishing blow, but I certainly was hoping.” Ornelas now improves to 30-6 with twenty fight by way of knockout.

Honorable Mention
In a battle of pro debuts Lancaster’s Roberto Reyes went toe to toe with Azamat Umarzoda in a scheduled four round junior middleweight bout. Both fighters came out swinging, with Umarzoda throwing the more reckless shots. Surprisingly he landed a good deal and forced Reyes to brawl in the early stages of round one. Those seated press side had a feeling that the fight would not last long, as Umarzoda seemed to blow his load in the final minute of the round. It allowed Reyes to capitalize, whose corner urged him to move forward and press the action. This tactic would serve him well as a counter upper cut floored Umarzoda with fifteen seconds left til the end of the round. Umarzoda crashed down hard and was wobbly on his way up who immediately called the bout at 2:45 of the first round.
