Fight Hub TV Quicke: Who are Brock Lesnar’s sparing partners?

Rumor has it that in preparation for his UFC  121 title defense against Cain Velsaquez, Brock Lesnar has brought in some big boys to try and emulate Cain Velsaquez.

Who might these fellows be? Rising Strikeforce contender Shane Del Rosario and Pat “HD” Barry.

Barry is seen by many as a kickboxing specialist, something that team Lesnar is taking into account as Velsaquez has developed solid kickboxing technique training at American Kickboxing Academy. What Barry lacks in quickness and crisp footwork, Team Lesnar is hoping that Del Rosario will fill that void.

It has long been rumored that Del Rosario could be facing Andrei Arlovski and training with Brock Lesnar is a great way to prepare for that type of fight. Rosario is one of Strikeforce’s young prospects with a perfect 10-0 record.  He has finished 8 of his last 10 opponents standing and is comparable to size and speed to Velsaquez.

Though both Barry and Rosario have similar characteristics to Velsaquez, none of them posses the stand up technique and crispness that have made Velsaquez such a feared opponent.

Only time will tell if hiring both Rosario and Barry will pay dividends at October 23rd, in Anaheim.
