Hometown fans came out to see Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., today during a public workout. “It’s always great to feel the support of fans, specially here at home,” said Chavez, Jr., who was hosted by the Mayor of Culiacan, Héctor Melecio Cuén at the City Hall where the workout was attended by hundreds of fans. Chavez, Jr., returns home this Saturday to take on Billy Lyel in the main event of “Top Rank Live” that will be telecast by Fox Deportes in the United States.
Lyel who got into town on Tuesday night is ready to take on the son of the legend
“I know that I am the underdog here, but I have come to win and take full advantage of this great opportunity,” said Lyel.
It will be the first time that Chavez, Jr., has fought at home since December of 2006.
The final press conference will be on Thursday and the weigh-in will be on Friday, both at the host hotel Lucerna.
