So some major shit went down a few months back at BJ Penn’s just scrap event. Main eventers Chad Thomas and Joey Palamea went toe to toe for three full rounds. Thomas by many third person accounts seemed to be the clear winner as he pretty much dominated the fight from the first round to the last second, showing constraint from his usual scrappy style. When the judges handed their final decision, Joey Palamea was awarded the decision. Thomas was in shock and those in attendance booed the decision, yelling everything from highway robbery to words that would make your dead grandmother roll over in her grave.
Thomas immediately wanted to know what had happened as well as the others in attendance. It seems the judges had tabulated the scores wrong and accidentally gave the bout to Joey Palamea. The decision was eventually overturned and Thomas was rightfully awarded the fight. Our man Ken Yates caught up with Thomas as he explains what he was going through that night and much more.
