Caros Fodor vs. Thomas Diagne set in stone for July 23rd StrikeForce Challengers

StrikeForce Challengers just got a little bit more interesting as the protégé’s of StrikeForce stars Cung Le and Matt Hume will duke it out in a scheduled lightweight bout at the Comcast Arena in Everett, WA on Showtime.

Caros “The Future” Fodor is trained under Matt Hume and is no normal 26 year old.  At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Army fulfilling a dream he had since he was a little boy. Fodor saw combat in Kuwait and Iraq but eventually decided to try out mma. He started out at AMC kickboxing and Pankration in Kirkland, WA.  As fate would have it the young padawan that is Fodor met his current teacher Matt Hume the day he entered through the doors of the mma academy. It was from that day forward that Fodor went balls deep into the sport of mma.

Fodor is currently looking to rebound into the win column. He suffered a disappointing loss via armbar to Nate Hannah on Feb. 10, 2010. It was a minor set back as the fighter had 5 straight wins going into the match up with Hannah.

Come July 23rd, Fodor will be starring into the eyes of Cung Le Protégé Thomas Diagne. The  26 year old French man prefers slugging it out with opponents rather than drinking wine and cigarettes. He left France to train with Cung Le at the Universal Strength Headquarters (USH) gym in Milpitas, Calif in 2008.  The six-time San Shou titlist made his MMA debut on May 15, 2009 with a unanimous decision win over Kaleo Kwan at the first ever StrikeForce challengers.

In the main event, undefeated heavyweight prospect Shane Del Rosario (9-0) will attempt to extend his unblemished streak when he faces fellow heavy hitter Lolohea Mahe (4-1-1).

Unbeaten StrikeForce Women’s World Welterweight (135 pounds) Champion Sarah Kaufman (11-0) will put her 0 on the line as she faces Roxanne Modafferi (15-5).

Abongo Humphrey (7-1) will take on Mike “Mak” Kyle (16-7-1) at light heavyweight while Twenty-five year old Cory “The One” Devela (9-4) will attempt to re-ignite his career in his first bout in 12 months when he faces Bobby Voelker (21-8) at welterweight.
