Carlo Prater replaces Brandon Wolff at TFC 11

Former WEC and MFC contender Carlo Prater, coming off a MFC title loss to Antonio Mckee is looking to rebound against Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford  at TFC 11: DESTINY, Saturday, July 17th at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

As mentioned, Ford’s original opponent, Brandon Wolff sustained injuries while defending his X-1 welterweight title this past weekend and had to pull out of his bout with Ford.

Current TFC champion, Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford is being viewed by many to be the next great Canadian welterweight after current pound-4-pound Georges St-Pierre. Sporting a record of 12-2, Ford is native of Edmonton and is on a four fight win streak. He captured the TFC welterweight title on December 5th of last year when he knocked John Walsh (10-5) in thirteen seconds at “TFC 9: TOTAL CHOAS.”

“It doesn’t change my approach to the fight. I’m ready for anyone. I’m a fighter, and that’s what I do. Carlo is a good fighter, he’s a tough guy, so I think it’s going to be a test for me, and hopefully I come out on top,” Said Ford, commentating on a change of opponents.

His new opponent, Carlo Prater (24-7-1) is a Team Belfort fighter and well rounded overall. After mild success in the WEC were he loss to then current champion Carlos Condit, Prater dropped to the lightweight division and won the Palace Fighting Championships lightweight belt. After dropping a fist round loss via kimura to MFC lightweight champion Antonio Mckee, Prater will now step back up the welterweight ranks and face Ryan Ford for the TFC 170-lb. strap.
