“Canelo” Tells Chavez Jr. “Im Here For A Fight”

During a recent radio interview, rising mexican star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez commented on the recent verbal back and forth between Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya and son of Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. De la Hoya, made public comments over his twitter in which he bashed Chavez Jr. on his decision win over Billy Lyell in Mexico.

“I’m sorry but he just does not have it. There’s no pop in his punches, but I wish him the best,” De la Hoya stated. Chavez Jr. has now popped back with comments of his own, “I call on Oscar De La Hoya to pick up the gloves and face me at middleweight in September and give more motivation to De la Hoya. I’ll bet my purse I’ll send him back into permanent retirement.”

Alavarez, who is promoted by De La Hoya, had this to say on the whole situation, “De La Hoya is now retired, but there are a lot of fighters who are here. We are here. Here we are. If he (Chavez) wants to fight with someone, here I am. I’m at welterweight and super welterweight.”
