Fight Hub Quickie: Bradley outpoints and outskills Abregu; Angulo puts Alcine away

In front of 2,000 hometown fans at the Rancho Mirage Casino and Resort, Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley blew past undefeated Luis Carlos Abregu on the score cards to give the scrappy hard hitting Argentine his first defeat. Abregu could never use his height and reach in the bout, missing Bradley in close quarters and not pumping his jab to keep Bradley from moving forward. It was a solid performance by the undefeated Bradley who landed a hard hooks repeatedly in the bout. Abregu never showed signs of being in danger but could never mount any offense and easily lost in the scorecards (118-110, 116-112, 117-111). After the bout, Bradley issued a formal challenge to Manny Pacquiao in the welterweight division. Bradley has been frustrated as of late, with fighters and promoters skipping on the 5’6 power hitter for other in-house fights pitting their own fighters against each other. As eager as Bradley was to call out Manny Pacquiao, anger and emotion came out  when he mentioned undefeated junior welterweight Devon Alexander. The two have a bit of heat as of late with Alexander doing his fair share of trash talking towards team Bradley.

On the under card Mexico’s Alfredo ” El Perro” Angulo came in with a huge bite as a straight right hand at 2:59 of the first round finished off opponent Joachim Alcine via TKO. It was a entertaining bout that saw both fighters go toe to toe in entertaining exchanges. Angulo would get the upper hang though, landing hard straight rights while Alcine held onto his left arm attempting to force a clinch. Alcine would respond back later in the first round landing a few great hooks but the always forward moving Angulo would shake those shots off and unleashed a barrage of bombs in the final second of the first round that put Alcine out on his feet. Angulo now moves onto a record of 19-1 as he awaits big names and big bouts in a stacked light middleweight division.
