Arreola Wins On Points Over Quezada

In what should of been a one sided affair heavyweight Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola went the distance with Manuel Quezada in their scheduled 12 round bout on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights. Arreola was the busier of the two fighters in the beginning of the fight, finding a home for his right hand on the chin of Quezada. Arreola seemed to slow down as the fight progressed and he later attributed it to a hurt left and right hand. The middle rounds saw Quezada hit the floor twice in the ninth round via Arreola uppercuts and rights. To his credit Quezada continued to fight on having a great tenth and eleventh round. Arreola’s hand injury would become obvious by the middle of the tenth as the Quezada rounds were a direct result of Arreola suffering a injury. Quezada could not keep the momentum going as he hit the floor once more in the twelfth. The look in his eyes signaled it all as the fighter made his way up; he knew he had the fight out of his grasp. When the bell rang, and the corners convened, the judges gave their nod to Chris Arreola via unanimous decision.
