While Donald Cerrone was adamant about returning to the Octagon for a fifth time in 2014, it seems that the UFC swayed “Cowboy” to hold off his return just a few months in order to take on Myles “Fury” Jury.
Cerrone and Jury had agreed to the fight earlier this month, but Cerrone wanted to fight in December, while Jury wanted to wait until January. Today, reports have surfaced that Cerrone and Jury are set to battle at UFC Fight Night 59 in January.
The two top-tier lightweights will likely serve as the co-main event for the featherweight battle between Conor McGregor and Dennis Siver.
“Cowboy” broke the news on his Instagram:
While Cerrone may say he is not interested in fighting for the title, a win over Jury in January would make it 6 in a row for the fan favorite, and a title shot couldn’t be far off.
