Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone may be the hottest fighter in the UFC today, so it’s no wonder Lightweights are not lining up at the UFC front offices to get a crack at the No. 4 ranked fighter in the division.
Cowboy has won five fights in a row, including his impressive unanimous decision victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 178 this past weekend.
Prior to his bout with Alvarez, Cerrone noted that he “does not give a s**t” about the UFC title, and is actually more motivated to fight more often.
When leaving Vegas, Cowboy tweeted that he had some great news, which likely meant he would be fighting before the year ended. Unfortunately, the fight that Cerrone had in mind fell through when his opponent refused the December fight date.
The opponent in question? Undefeated No. 8 ranked Lightweight Myles Jury.
Well the good news I had today was shot down! The fighter said he was injured?? Come on guys! Someone please ask to fight one more please

All they guys want to say they’ll fight! Super easy call Dana and sign the dotted fucking line. It will be just under my already signed name

Cowboy then shared Jury’s message to his fans, indicating that the former TUF competitor was interested in fighting Cerrone in January.

“@JukesMMA: @Cowboycerrone @FuryJury was this the fight that you were talking abt and gone now?” Yes it was. Now I’m pissed

If you didn’t already love Donald Cerrone, how could you not after this? Here’s to hoping Cowboy gets a fight before the end of 2014.
