5 Reasons to Get Really Pumped Up for UFC 137: St-Pierre vs Condit

UFC 137: St-Pierre vs. Condit

By @Greg Riot

1.)  Carlos Condit Will More Than Test GSP

GSP is praised as being a complete fighter, but everyone will agree, including GSP, that he can’t finish fights. Condit can. He has finished 26 opponents and is also an all around fighter who has 13 wins by KO and 13 wins via submission. He isn’t just good, he excels in boxing, kicking, ground and pound and submissions. He won’t just test GSP, he can possibly finish him.

2.) Superman Punch vs Flying Knee

A lot of popular UFC fighters have a signature move or combination that’s not just a crowd pleasure, but an effective weapon in their arsenal. GSP sometimes shuffles his feet or throws a fake before going for his signature move, the superman punch. It’s a great move that not only looks cool but closes the distance and can really damage or KO an opponent. Condit’s signature move is a very devastating flying knee that gets a lot of hang time. He recently KO’d Dong Hyun Kim with it in his last fight.

3.) The B.J. Penn vs Nick Diaz Aftermath

If Nick Diaz wins Dana White will be hard pressed to not give him a chance to take on the winner of GSP vs Condit. If Nick proves victorious than there is no doubt he will grab the mic and make sure Dana and everyone else know he wants a shot at the title. Maybe even Dana himself will come out and tell him he’s going to get a title shot. Either way, be prepared for some Dana/Diaz drama right after the fight.

4.) Two One Sided Heavyweight Matchups

Two Ultimate Fighter contenders are taking on MMA veterans. Matt Mitrione will most likely get KO’d in a spectacular fashion by Cheick Kongo. Although Roy Nelson stand s a better fight against Mirko Filipović, his chances of winning is still slim. We will probably see a one sided battle in which Cheick and Mirko knock around their not so TUF opponents.
