Wait, Cat Zingano may have injured her other knee while rehabbing her injured knee?

I hope Cat Zingano doesn’t go the way of Dominick Cruz. Can we agree with that? I mean, she’s been yanked out of coaching TUF, receiving a title shot, her whole career has been swooped aside while she rehabilitates her busted up knee… Now it turns out she injured her other knee while rehabbing her injured knee?

The battle of Wounded Knee took place in the Zingano household.

This is a major bummer. I’m a big Cat Zingano fan, and I even think she has what it takes to beat Ronda Rousey, but now we will have to wait even longer for the true bantamweight number one contender to come back. Man, what’s with these bantamweights and their knees?

Dr. Kvitne, Cat Zingano’s doctor, detailed what happened on Facebook:

“Cat is now three months out from her right knee anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, she’s three months out; her knee looks great. She’s got almost perfect motion, she’s got great strength, she’s got excellent stability. She’s about three months from getting back in the ring and starting to spar.”

“The only problem is the left knee appears to have somewhere along the line gotten into trouble with a medial meniscus tear, so we’ll confirm that today with an MRI. If she does may have a torn meniscus, she’ll need surgery fairly quickly, so she can get back on track with the rehab.”
