Alan Belcher: “Bisping couldn’t KO me if I let him hit me with his best punch.”

Bisping and Belcher. Two of the more jolly gents you will ever find outside the cage. However, sparks immediately began to fly when these two were set to battle one another. In fact, sparks were flying before they were ever set to fight. The trash talk began as simple ribs, then it escalated into a Fiat vs a $300,000 car bet that Bisping couldn’t finish Belcher in the first round, and now, Belcher continues to egg on Bisping. It’s not that it isn’t entertaining, but sometimes bringing out the beast isn’t the best thing to do. Bisping and Belfort was one thing, that was all Bisping, but the last time someone openly mocked Bisping as much as this, it was Mayhem Miller, and he ended up looking like this.

Will Belcher meet the same fate? Probably not. This is an interesting fight no matter where it goes on the cage. Bisping has vastly improved his ground game, and he has cardio for days. And on the feet, it may not look like it, but I think these two are fairly evenly matched despite what Belcher had to say to UFC.com:

“This fight is just like, you know, the biggest fight of my life,” Belcher admitted during a pre-fight interview with UFC.com. “We both have a lot on the line for this one, we’re both getting close to a title shot, so a loss could be detrimental…”

I think that my skill-set and all the different weapons I have, along with my power, is going to be the difference in the fight. I have no doubt in my mind that Bisping could not knock me out with his best punch if I let him. There’s no way that I am going to get hurt in this fight and that I’m going to go down.

Well, how do you know Bisping has thrown his best punch? What if Bisping’s best punch could knock out Anderson Silva? Why even go all hypothetical? Hmm. Either way, we can’t wait for this fight to go down at UFC 159.
