The UFC has just secured ownership of the closet thing to competition for the promotion in the US. That’s right Strikeforce is now under ownership of Zuffa. I couldn’t believe this when I heard the news break, but it is 100% factual and Dana White sat down with Ariel Helwani to break the news, talk about the future of Strikeforce, and what this means for the fighters.
My questions are not fully answered in this interview, I want to know if we could see superfights between both promotions champs, if we can expect the future of Strikeforce to be the past of PRIDE, and if Dana will allow his personal conflicts with fighters to determine if they stay with either promotion. Oh and can someone ask Fedor if he is retiring now??
