Travis “Hapa” Browne “Kharitonov is a tough SOB that knows how to strike and has decent takedown defense”

As the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Semi-Finals draw nearer, anticipation and speculation is building up as to who will take the second round. For those of you who have been casually observing, the semi finals consist of Antonio “Big Foot” Silva taking on Daniel Cormier in the first semi final leg and Josh Barnett taking on who many are calling a dark horse, Sergei Kharitonov. Cormier of course, replaced Alistair Overeem who just recently signed with the UFC and is facing Brock Lesnar on Dec. 30th.

This heavyweight tournament has had plenty of surprises and upsets starting with Fedor Emelianenko losing in the opening round and as mentioned above, the tournament losing Alistair Overeem. One man who is banking on another upset is UFC heavyweight Travis “Hapa” Browne. For months Browne has been saying that Kharitonov is the dark horse of the tournament and everyone needs to keep a close eye on him. He tells Ron “Yackman” Yacovetti who graciously interviewed Browne the same thing as the two chum it up in this very insightful interview!
