Our Fight Hub TV cameras were on the scene as our newly minted fight corespondent Michael Mardones was at the craziness that was Floyd Mayweather Jr’s media workout for his fight coming up against Victor Ortiz on September 17th. In what could of easily been a sauna, the Mayweather Boxing Club played host to invited media for close to three hours as we spoke to Mayweather jr, Roger Mayweather and many other people in Mayweather’s extended entourage.
Despite saying he has watched zero footage on Victor Ortiz in the second episode of HBO’s 24/7, Roger Mayweather, the uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and head trainer admits he has seen Ortiz in action. He confesses that he doesn’t believe that the young Ortiz is not good but that he does believe Ortiz is not great. Mayweather also shares his thoughts on past foes Ortiz has faced and says that when Mayweather takes a fight with someone it is because he knows he can beat them.
