Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin talks paying respects to former champion Julio Gonzalez

We last saw Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin in the ring against Winky Wright, whom he ultimately knocked down and defeated. The loss caused the elder Wright to retire from the sport and may cause die hard Wright fans to dislike the rising star that is Quillin. If you are one of those, hold your horses and listen to this interview as Quillin is an extremely humble and god fearing man. A few months back, former light heavyweight champion Julio Gonzalez passed away due to a accident involving a drunk driver in Mexico. Gonzalez at one point in his career was a top rated light heavyweight, who fought Roy Jones Jr. and won a major world title against Dariusz Michalczewsk back in 2003.

Funeral services were recently held at The La Habra Boxing Club in which Gonzalez trained as a small child and Quillin made a surprise visit to wish the extended Gonzalez family condolences. He speaks to Marcos Villegas about the reason behind his visit and what it meant to him personally.
