I want to start this article off by saying that Gomi beat Diego Sanchez last March in Japan, and this should be Gomi vs. Diego. Secondly, Diego hasn’t actually made 155 in years, but I digress. I think we can agree that Diego has a weird way of winning fights, and his upcoming battle against Gilbert Melendez October 19th at UFC 166 should be an early favorite for Fight of the Night at the very least. These are two dudes who love to scrap.
We nabbed some footage of Gilbert hitting the pads after five five-minute rounds of sparring, and it just reinforces the fact that I can’t wait for this fight.
